Knighton held a very successful Harvest Supper on Saturday 5th October. It took place in the Parish Rooms with the meal consisting of a delicious chicken casserole, provided by Ann Prosser, of Ann’s Kitchen, followed by lemon meringue pies made by the ladies of the village.
The raffle was organised, with his usual efficiency, by Anthony Bunn. This was followed by a spectacular display of magic by Chris Davis who is, amongst many other things, the Chairman of the Tenbury Regal Cinema Trust. He used to be a professional stage magician so the performance was quite fascinating; the sight of our former Church Warden with her head in a large guillotine will remain in the memory for a long time! Our grateful thanks to Chris for his generosity in spending so much time preparing for a most enjoyable evening.
The event was run partly to raise money for the Knighton Bell Turret Fund and the final figure was nearly £500. Very many thanks must go to everyone who helped with preparing the Rooms and tables, producing the puddings and the many donations to the raffle; and an especial thanks must go to all those who, quite unbidden, helped clear the Room at the end of the evening.
