Lindridge Harvest and Thanksgiving Service

Dear Everyone,

This is really a thankyou letter for all your kindness and generosity. On Sunday 5th October at Lindridge we celebrated our Harvest Festival. The Church was beautifully decorated and laden with gifts to be taken to Maggs Day Centre in Worcester. The Choir, led by Andrew, enchanted us especially by singing ‘For the Beauty of the Earth’ and the pews were full of folk, young and old, who had come to say their “official Good Bye” to Louise, Paul and Meredith as after eleven and a half years with us, they will soon be moving to Devon.

Children performed the Old Testament story of Ruth and Naomi, led by Louise. Our Parish Wardens, Gill Morgan, Meryl Roberts and Vickie Melling, with the PCC Lay Chair Marjorie Workman all played their part in organising the service and truly “The Spirit flowed” – it was a wonderful service with a verbal understanding of the works of the church, speeches and thanks and presentation of gifts, including a huge cake baked and decorated by Liz Dove, which was served with the coffee.

For my part, I was in tears listening to you all singing “Happy Birthday” accompanied by Jason on the organ – and then being given a beautiful bouquet of roses and lilies. I’m taking a back seat for the present hoping to benefit from new knees!

So thank you, God Bless and love from Betty.
