We held our fourth Rejoice! gathering at St. Andrew’s Church, Stockton-on-Teme on the theme of The Road to Emmaus.
Betty took us on a pilgrimage along the road to Emmaus, where the disciples were on a journey with Jesus and did not recognise him. Sadly, the wet weather prevented Betty’s pilgrimage being held in the grounds of the Church and it was held inside the Church instead.
The adults studied the picture of Caravaggio’s Supper at Emmaus and talked about hospitality and sharing, and the children made masks – showing that people are not always easy to see and understand, they can be masked.
There were some lovely worship songs and we are all looking forward to the next meeting at Lindridge Parish Hall on May 12th where Robert Jones will be leading a worship session based on music.
