This term’s taster sessions have come to an end, and I thought it would be good to write down some of the achievements for this term.
Over the term we have had 15 families in total attend the sessions, which has been great! It has been lovely to see the families meet together and get to know each other and also have the opportunity to play with their children in a new environment.
The children have enjoyed activities, which vary each week, including:
- Growing beans
- Dressing up
- Building dens and making buses out of large boxes
- Play dough
- Train sets and Lego
Not to forget the singing and bubbles enjoyed each week!
It is has been a great privilege and joy to see all the children relax as they get to know each other. It has also been wonderful to be able to see the babies grow and develop so quickly over the short time that the sessions have been running.
The Baby and Toddler Group will start again when the schools return for the Autumn Term on Thursday 5th September from 9.30 am to 11 am. I mentioned above that 15 families had attended the sessions over this term; sadly, some of them have not continued to attend. So, I am asking all of you to do a bit of advertising over the holidays for the group and encourage anyone you know who has young children to come and join us in September!
I am still waiting to find out if our application for funding from the Awards for All (Lottery Fund) has been successful. If it is, then the group will have some money to spend on equipment and resources. If you have any thoughts on what sort of equipment/resources you think your children would enjoy, please let me know.
I would also welcome any feedback on the sessions for this term, both from the regulars and also from those who have attended only once or twice. Feedback is welcomed for the areas that you like, and any thoughts on changes or improvements you’d like to see at the group.
Finally, I want to thank you all for supporting the group, and all the volunteers who help me set up and clear up and provide such a warm welcome to you all.
I have enjoyed the sessions this term and I am looking forward to the new term in September.
