Rejoice! was at Pensax Village Hall this month – on a glorious hot summer afternoon.

This month’s Rejoice! was based around art and the Tree of Glory. The art theme follows on from Music in the May Rejoice! and Drama in June.

There were activities around making birds from clay, glider birds to make and paint, a tree collage and decorating people chains. There was also a picture study of Thomas Traherne’s windows, which can be seen at Hereford Cathedral.

All these activities were brought together through the parable of the Mustard Seed, using a Godly Play story. During the story we discussed how we are all part of God’s creation, the Tree is our home, the birds representing all God’s creatures and the people chains showing that we are all made in God’s image and are the body of Christ.

We sang some beautiful songs and finished with a game – seeing whose bird glider could fly the furthest!

We look forward to seeing you at the next Rejoice! when we’ll be at Stockton Church on Sunday the 11th August at 9.30 am for a Rejoice! style way of celebrating Communion together. Please note the earlier time.
