I thought it was time for another newsletter as we seem to have been busy over the last few months. Christmas is well behind us and we are looking forward to Spring!
Thanks to our funding grant from Awards for All (The Big Lottery fund) we have been able to buy more equipment, which I hope you have all enjoyed.
There have been several events over the last months. Liz made us a beautiful Pudsey Cake for Children in Need that we auctioned at the group and then again on Facebook. As a result we raised a fantastic £42.18p. Thank you Liz!
Pete Thorpe (photographer) also came to the group to take photos of the children. Unfortunately, there was a bit of a mix up and I was not expecting him on the day, so had not let you all know he was visiting. None-the-less, those of you who were at the session took advantage of his visit and the photos that I saw were really lovely. We can invite him again in the future if you are interested.
More recently Jo Jingles joined us and led a music session that the children (and parents/carers) really enjoyed. The plan is to invite Jo Jingles back each term.
The group is growing in size each term goes by and a warm welcome to all the new families who have recently joined us. It is interesting to see the group grow and watch the children grow and develop. Come September the numbers will reduce as some of the children will be starting school (or pre-school).
The plans for the remainder of this term include:
- Crafts for Mother’s Day and Easter
- Play Dough
- Den building
- Animal masks
Currently the group runs only during term time, so there will not be a session on 20th February and the final session before Easter is the 10th April, restarting on 1st May. However, as a trial there will be one session over the Easter holidays on the 24th April (after Easter).
As always any feedback on the sessions is welcomed.
Many thanks to all of you who support the group by attending each week and to all the helpers who offer their time and energy to help me set up, clear up and provide such a warm welcome to you all.
We all enjoy the sessions as I hope you all do as well.
