The local community came together to show off their local crafts and skills at the Country Arts and Crafts Day at Stockton Church. This was all part of the Festival of Churches weeks, where for three weeks the churches across Worcestershire, Herefordshire and Shropshire invited everyone to come and enjoy beautiful and historic church buildings.
It was a wonderful sunny day and after enjoying all the craft displays, we sat together in shared fellowship and enjoyed tea and cakes together outside the church.
There were some beautiful examples of local craft work including:
- Artwork and sketches
- Flower arrangements
- Iris Folding
- Lavender faggots
- Patchwork and quilting
- Traditional Spinning demonstration
Some of these were exhibited and some were hands-on demonstrations. In particular, Betty showed us how to take a fleece, prepare and spin it and then turn it into skeins. Jenny had a table filled with wonderful creations and brought some clay for us all to have a go and get our hands dirty! Sandra showed us how to weave fragrant Lavender Faggots.
Thanks to all who came and visited the Church and all those who came to help and a special thank you to all who took the time to show their crafts in the Church.
