Autumn Term 2014
We are coming to the end of the Autumn Term and the group is going from strength to strength. We have a number of new families – welcome to you all and we also have a couple if new additions to regular families – lovely!!
We sent £30 to Children in Need from our collection, which was great and we should get a certificate at some point.
The sessions in the Summer Holidays this year were a bit mixed. The School was having work done on the playground so it was not safe for us to use. We did have a session in my garden, but the second planned session was rained off in the brief spell of bad weather we had in August! We did still get to enjoy some outside activities, for example, sand, water, shaving foam and painting large cardboard boxes.
We have had two visits from the Teme Valley Children’s Centre, and they have left leaflets and information for you to take away. If you’d like them to come to the group at any time, let me know and I can ask them to visit.
It continues to be a privilege to see the children play and enjoy the group, and to know that they look forward to coming. Observing the children growing up and then going off to school is lovely, particularly as I then also see them at Lindridge School when I help with the Open the Book assemblies.
It will soon be Christmas and for the next couple of weeks there will be some Christmas craft activities. We’ll have a special Christmas snack time on the last Thursday, plus some Christmas songs, so bring your singing voices with you!
There is a trip to the Hive booked for January 29th 2015; this is instead of a session at the Parish Hall. I will bring in slips with details of the visit at the start of next term. The Hive will be running a Bounce and Rhyme session exclusively for our group and it will last about an hour from 10.30am.
The Hive website for information re library cards and other topics is: www.worcestershire.gov.uk/libraries.
The final session for the Toddler Group this term will be on Thursday 18th December; there will not be any sessions over the Christmas holidays. The group will start again when the schools return for the Spring Term on Thursday 8th January 2015 from 9.30am to 11am.
Thanks to all of you who have supported the group and to all the helpers who offer their time to help me set up, clear up and provide such a warm welcome to you all.
As always, I’d welcome any feedback on the sessions.
Finally, it is with sadness that we say good bye to the Rev’d Louise Grace who has been a helper at the group since it started. Rev’d Louise and her family are moving to Devon, where Louise is taking up a new post in the Diocese of Exeter. We wish her, Meredith and Paul all our best wishes for their future.
